How high blood pressure damages your body

Hypertension or high blood pressure- you would have heard this term many times. High blood pressure has become very common nowadays. Elevated blood pressure is responsible for at least 45% of deaths due to heart disease and 51% of deaths due to stroke. 2Have you ever wondered why high blood pressure is so worrisome and How high blood pressure damages your body? The answer is because it puts pressure on the heart, arteries and other vital organs. That stress leads to serious health complications such as heart attack, stroke, paralysis and kidney damage. The normal blood pressure of a person should be 120/80mm Hg. Though an elevated level or reduced level, both are not regarded as healthy, the prevalence of high blood pressure is more.

Blood is the liquid connective tissue which carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body. The elevated level of blood damages several organs of our body like heart, brain, arteries, kidneys, eyes, and bone. There are various factors which are responsible for the elevated blood pressure like smoking, obesity, lack of physical activity, alcohol consumption, too much salt in the diet, adrenal or thyroid disorders. We can control our blood pressure by changing our lifestyle or by an alteration in our diet system.

How high blood pressure damages your body?

High blood pressure majorly affects the following organs:

Arter3ies:
Arteries carry the blood from the heart to the rest of the body. The walls of arteries are smooth lined, strong, flexible and capable to push the blood. During hypertension, the extra pressure of the blood damages the cells of arteries. It causes the scratch in the linings of the artery wall, which leads to clogging. That clog and plaque blocks the arteries and hinders the blood flow.

Heart:
The h4eart is regarded as the vital organ of the body. It pumps blood to various organs via arteries and veins. The heart muscles also needs blood supply. Various heart complications occur due to improper supply of blood to the heart and cause chest pain (angina), heart attack (Cardiac arrest), and Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia). When the blood gets stuck in the arteries, the heart needs to pump the blood with greater force. Due to overwork, the walls of the heart becomes larger and lose its strength to pump the blood resulting in heart attack.

 Brain:

5Stroke is the 2nd leading cause of death. Stroke is a condition wherein the supply of blood and oxygen to the brain is not decorous. It is due to the rupture of a brain artery or blockage by the plaque of a blood clot. The brain controls the whole functions of the body. Different parts of the brain regulate the different body functions. The area of the brain deprived of blood would get affected the most. Sometimes it results in paralysis to lifetime. A lessened blood supply to the brain can also keep you from thinking clearly and remembering. It can provoke a condition called vascular dementia.

Kidney:

6

The Kidney is a bean-shaped organ located below the ribs. Each kidney is composed of about a million filtering units called nephrons. Each nephron filters a small amount of blood. The nephron has one filter, called the glomerulus, and a tubule. It filters the blood. When blood flows in high pressure, it damages the blood vessels present in the kidney and reduces the working of the kidney. Due to damaged blood vessels in the kidney, the blood cannot be filtered out properly and extra harmful and toxic fluids remain in the blood only which causes serious health problems

Eye:7

Eyes are one of the most important parts of our body. Elevated blood pressure can damage the vessels that supply blood to the retina and lead to retinopathy. In this condition problems like bleeding from eyes, blurred vision and complete loss of vision can occur. High blood pressure can also cause optic neuropathy or nerve damage. Nerve damage is a condition in which blocked blood flow damages the optic nerve. It can kill nerve cells in your eyes, which may cause bleeding within your eye or lead to vision loss.

Sexual dysfunction: High blood pressure damages the linings of blood vessels that carry blood to the reproductive organs. The damaged linings make the vessels harden and narrow. The reduced blood flow towards the 8reproductive organs makes difficult for a male to maintain the erections.

Bone loss: The excretion of calcium in urine is also the result of high blood pressure. The immoderate elimination of calcium leads to loss of bone density, which in turn can lead to broken bones. The risk especially increases in older women.

Sleep apnea: The sleep apnea is a kind of interrupted breathing while you are asleep. High blood pressure can trigger it or make it worse. Also, sleep deprivation resulting from sleep apnea can raise your blood pressure.

How high blood pressure damages your body? High blood pressure damage our body slowly over a long period of time without noticeable symptoms. 9That is why it is important to practice healthy habits, like regular exercise and eating a diet which is low in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats. Blood pressure can be managed and being aware of your high blood pressure can help you and your doctor to control it better.

FACTS WE NEVER KNEW ABOUT MALE BODY

10 FACTS WE NEVER KNEW ABOUT MALE BODY:

Human body is composed of many different kinds of cells which combine to form various body parts. These cells are different for men and women. It is very well known that these different cells are responsible for the different body structures of both genders.

Besides the visual differences such as physique, reproductive organs, etc, there are some FACTS WE NEVER KNEW ABOUT MALE BODY, which are very rarely known. These facts about male body are:

  1. Larger brain size than women 1

You will be amazed to know that the size of brain of males and females vary. The brain size of males is slightly larger than the females. It has been observed that the average weight of male brain is 1345 grams whereas that of females is 1222 grams.

But men use only one side of their brain whereas females have the capability to use both the sides of the brain simultaneously. Due to this, females are considered as multi-tasking and males are considered to be doing one single activity at one time with complete focus.

  1. Female in womb during first six weeks 2

It has been scientifically proved that each baby in the womb is a female during first 6 weeks of the pregnancy. The gender of a baby is decided on the basis of chromosomes it is receiving. A baby will be female if she receives both XX chromosomes and will be a male if baby has one X chromosome and one Y chromosome. But during the first 6 weeks inside womb, the Y chromosome is completely inactive. Due to this, the body structure is prepared in the form of a female. When Y chromosome becomes active after 6 weeks, then, the baby starts to be developed into male body.

  1. Slow ageing process 3

Another fact about male body is that they have slow aging process. All the credit goes to higher collagen density in skin. Men have high amount of collagen in their skin layers i.e. dermis & epidermis layers. This higher collagen density in men inhibits the ageing process. It contributes in more firmness and elasticity of male skin. It takes long time for the development of wrinkles and ageing lines in men.

  1. Milk-producing capability 4

It will be surprising to know that males also have milk ducts required for lactation. The hormone responsible for producing milk i.e. prolactin is also present in male bodies. If this hormone exceeds the required amount, it causes side effects in males. The increase in prolactin in male bodies is due to the consumption of some medications such as antipsychotic medication, medication for heart disease, etc.

  1. Adam’s apple for higher tone voice 5

Another fact about male body is the Adam’s apple, which is situated above the thyroid gland. This Adam’s apple is also present in females but in much smaller size which is not even noticeable. The increase in the size of Adam’s apple in men is due to the increase in testosterone levels after puberty. Due to this, the Adam’s apple is completely visible in men through the front neck. This contributes to the heaviness in male voice too.

  1. Colour identification capability 6

Males and females look at colours differently. Women have more capability of differentiating various shades of colours than men do. This has also been proven by neuroscientists. The amount of testosterone in the body is responsible for this colour perception. Men have more testosterone receptors in brain than women, especially in the visual region of the cerebral cortex (part of the brain that processes information from the senses). Different numbers of receptors result in differences in visual perception.

  1. Strong body odour 7

Body odour is the outcome of sweat. The bacteria on men’s body that breaks down our sweat decide whether the odour will be good or bad. In case of males, the body odour is much stronger. The high production of testosterone is responsible for high sweat production and the more breakdown of more sweat by bacteria results in strong body odour.

  1. Baldness 8

Another FACTS WE NEVER KNEW ABOUT MALE BODY is this that they are more susceptible to pattern hair loss than women. The hormone responsible for pattern hair loss is Dihydrotestosterone which is converted from testosterone inside body. As testosterone is majorly present in males, it is clear that more DHT will be produced and more pattern hair loss will occur.

  1. Estrogen hormone

Estrogen, which is a female hormone, is surprisingly present in male body too. Generally, it is present in normal amount that is not even identifiable in male body. During the excess in fat cells, estrogen starts to increase and testosterone starts to decrease which results in heart problems and prostate cancer. It also contributes to the decrease in muscle mass, fatigue, low libido, etc.

  1. Thicker skin 9

Lesser known FACTS WE NEVER KNEW ABOUT MALE BODY is that, they have much thicker skin than females. Thicker skin is also a contributor to slow aging process of male skin. The reason behind the thicker skin is testosterone. This hormone has much higher levels in men than women. Due to this, male skin is 25% much thicker and tends to thin as men age because male body face fall in testosterone levels as they age. To maintain the thickness of skin to longer time, it is suggested to increase testosterone levels in male body. Testosterone can be increased by consuming herbal supplements such as Chemforce which are clinically-proven to increase the testosterone levels in male body with complete safety. 6

How Testosterone and Cholesterol are Connected?

How Testosterone and Cholesterol are Connected?

Testosterone: The Elixir of Manhood is a sex hormone made in large amounts in the testes of men and in smaller amounts in women’s ovaries while Cholesterol is the part of every cell’s outer membrane, responsible for its fluid nature and helping determine which molecules can enter the cell. To understand the connection between these two it’s important to know them individually first.

What is Cholesterol?

Cholesterol is a type of fat or lipid found in the bloodstream. We need some cholesterol for healthy cell productions. It is present in all of our cells, being especially present in the membrane where it gives the cells the ability to send messages between each other.

1

This lipid molecule has several crucial roles all around the body, and cholesterol is so important that if you’re not getting enough from your diet; your liver will synthesize it to keep you alive.

Cholesterol is a precursor for all sex hormones and this also includes the principal male hormone i.e. testosterone.

Cholesterol is of two types:

  1. Low density lipoprotein, or LDL, is called “bad” cholesterol because its high levels can deposit potentially dangerous fats in the blood vessels causing heart disease e. arthrosclerosis.
  2. High density lipoprotein, or HDL, is called “good” cholesterol because it carries excess blood cholesterol from blood vessels back to the liver for removal. It is protective in nature.

What is testosterone2

Testosterone is a sex hormone made in large amounts in the testes of men and in smaller amounts in women’s ovaries. It stimulates sperm production and sexual function   in men and may support a normal libido in women.

Testosterone is a type of androgen produced primarily by the testes/testicles in cells called the Leydig cells. Without adequate testosterone, men are infertile. This is because the process of spermatogenesis (development of mature sperm) requires testosterone.

In men, testosterone is thought to regulate a number of functions in addition to sperm production. These include:

  • Libido
  • Bone mass
  • Fat distribution
  • Muscle size and strength
  • Red blood cell production

The two most commonly known effects of testosterone are sexual virility and increased muscle mass – so this means that lower testosterone can also lead to sexual dysfunction and/or lowered muscle mass (with a corresponding increase in body fat).  But low testosterone can also manifest as depression, low bone mineral density, low energy and anemia.

The Two Essential Compounds – The Two Way Connection:

How Testosterone and Cholesterol are Connected

3

Now you probably know that testosterone is a male sex hormone and cholesterol is a substance that travels in your blood. But you may be unaware that the two compounds are chemically related because they share a similar chemical structure. Understanding how the two compounds relate to each other is an area of current research with potential implications for maintaining good health. This is How Testosterone and Cholesterol are Connected

HOW CHOLESTEROL LEVELS AFFECT TESTOSTERONE?

Cholesterol is a precursor for all your sex hormones and this includes the principal male hormone: testosterone.

4

The final part of the whole testosterone synthesis is simply when luteinizing hormone (LH) triggers the testicular leydig cells to convert cholesterol into testosterone. Meaning that cholesterol, the actual lipid molecule, is like pre-testosterone.

And it comes not as a surprise that several studies have found out how increased cholesterol intake correlates with elevated testosterone production.

HOW TESTOSTERONE LEVELS AFFECT CHOLESTEROL?

5

Testosterone levels influence the amount and type of cholesterol your body produces. Testosterone therapy is usually given for a condition known as hypogonadism. Testosterone levels start to decline in men after age 30, but the decline is gradual. That decrease in testosterone is the second reason a man may be given testosterone therapy. Some men want to make up for the lost muscle mass and sex drive that results from this natural decrease in testosterone.

Scientists have observed that men who take testosterone medications may have decreases in their HDL levels. HDL is GOOD cholesterol and if it decreases, it poses a great risk for Cardiac diseases. However the effect of testosterone on HDL cholesterol appears to vary depending on the person. Age may be a factor. The type or dose of testosterone medication may also influence its effect on cholesterol.

6Research suggests that extra testosterone might affect blood levels of total cholesterol and HDL. For example, a study published in the March 2012 issue of “Substance Abuse Treatment, Prevention and Policy” reported that a single dose of extra testosterone in male subjects caused an increase in both total cholesterol and the liver enzyme that makes cholesterol. A review published in the September 2005 issue of “Clinical Endocrinology (Oxford)” concluded that testosterone might reduce HDL in some middle-aged men and increase LDL. A buildup of too much LDL cholesterol, however, leads to the formation of plaques in the arteries. This is known as atherosclerosis.

When a person has atherosclerosis, the excess plaque can narrow the arteries enough to stop blood flow. When that happens in an artery of the heart called a “coronary artery” the result is a heart attack.

CONCLUSION 7

By using a natural testosterone supplement, you can enjoy all of the positive benefits that you would experience if you underwent testosterone replacement therapy. How Testosterone and Cholesterol are Connected The major benefit of using a natural testosterone supplement is that you would not expose yourself to some of the potentially dangerous side-effects like increased LDL levels and decreased HDL levels associated with testosterone replacement therapy.

You can expect to experience incredible energy levels, enhanced libido, firmer erections, an increased ability to maintain concentration, more drive, less body fat and much improved lean muscle mass, amongst other things. How Testosterone and Cholesterol are Connected

Testosterone Boosting Vs Testosterone Replacement Therapy What to Choose

Testosterone Boosting Vs Testosterone Replacement Therapy What to Choose

Testosterone is the primary male hormone, which plays key role in the development of male reproductive organs. It also promotes secondary sexual characteristics such as increased muscle and bone mass and the growth of body hair. Insufficient levels of testosterone in men may lead to abnormalities including weakness and bone loss.

Testosterone deficiency involves the decline in serum testosterone levels in men, which results in depression, low libido, erectile dysfunction, low ejaculation volume, impaired memory and poor concentration. It has been observed that testosterone levels gradually decrease as men age due to which it is most prevalent in men above 40-50 years of age. When men start diagnosing this problem, they look for solutions to this problem in the form of testosterone boosters or replacement therapy.

Natural testosterone boosting supplements simply induce the body to produce more testosterone. On the other hand, testosterone replacement therapy has been created in a laboratory environment and is prescribed by physicians to try and counter a number of health-related issues. Testosterone replacement therapy is the pumping of actual testosterone into the body.

TESTOSTERONE REPLACEMENT THERAPY

1

Testosterone replacement therapy is available in a number of forms, all of which are designed to improve the testosterone levels:

  • Injections and Implants involve testosterone being injected directly into the muscles, or implanted in the form of pellets within the soft tissue. The body slowly absorbs the testosterone into the bloodstream.
  • Mouth Patch is a tablet that sticks to the upper gums above the incisors. It is applied twice a day and continuously releases testosterone into the bloodstream through the oral tissues.
  • Skin Patch is worn on the arm of the upper body and is applied once daily.
  • Testosterone replacement therapy can also come in the form of a gel. This gel is absolved directly through the skin when it is applied once a day. This gel pumps testosterone into the body in intermittent stages, usually dictated by the prescribing physician.

Benefits of testosterone replacement therapy

2

The benefits of testosterone replacement therapy are different in different kinds of men. Some men don’t even notice any improvement. Overall, the benefits of this therapy include:

  • Improved energy levels
  • Enhanced sex drive
  • A better quality of erections
  • The extra testosterone is bound to assist in increasing bone density, muscle mass and insulin sensitivity
  • Improvement in the mood

Disadvantages of testosterone replacement therapy 3

Testosterone replacement therapy comes with a number of serious side-effects. Typical side-effects include:

  • Benign prostatic hyperplasia: Abnormal prostate growing as a result of the stimulation of testosterone
  • Urinary tube rupture: Abnormal prostate growth squeezing of the tube carrying the urine, disrupting urinary flow
  • Prostate cancer
  • Sleep apnea
  • Erythrocytosis: Abnormal increase in a red blood cell count, causing the blood to become thicker and more prone to clotting
  • Cognitive heart failure: This condition has been observed in many patients after undergoing testosterone replacement therapy

The main reason testosterone replacement therapy causes so many problems is you are literally injecting synthetic testosterone into your body. In other words, you are ingesting a substance that is not natural (and actually harmful) on a regular basis.

NATURAL TESTOSTERONE BOOSTING SUPPLEMENTS 4

The body’s testosterone production can be positively impacted by certain nutrients including, zinc aspartate, calcium and fenugreek. Testosterone Boosting Vs Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Natural testosterone supplements are created from these natural ingredients, which include bio active components that target the mechanism synthesising testosterone naturally inside body. They provide a safe and natural way to boost testosterone levels without the potential of increasing prostate cancer risk.

 Benefits of natural testosterone supplements

5

You can expect to experience following benefits by consuming testosterone boosters:

  • Incredible energy levels
  • Enhanced libido
  • Firmer erections
  • An increased ability to maintain concentration
  • More drive
  • Less body fat
  • Much improved lean muscle mass

The major benefit of using a natural testosterone supplement is that you would not expose yourself to some of the potentially dangerous side-effects associated with testosterone replacement therapy.

The only downfall associated with testosterone booster is that you may not experience any benefit but you will not develop any complication after using testosterone booster, which always develop in case of using testosterone replacement therapy.

If testosterone supplements don’t contain any testosterone, then how are they able to produce results?

7

Effective testosterone boosters work because they contain natural ingredients that stimulate the body to produce its own testosterone. This is the key because the synthetic testosterone is what causes all of the side effects. Testosterone Boosting Vs Testosterone Replacement Therapy. The body does not recognise synthetic testosterone, so it responds negatively to it. However, if you can get your body to produce testosterone on its own, then you will be able to prevent the body from having a negative reaction to it. Now, your body will be able to properly utilise all of the testosterone that is being produced along with all the benefits.

Taking natural testosterone boosters solves all four of the problems associated with testosterone replacement therapy.

  • First, testosterone supplements are comparatively inexpensive.
  • Second, these supplements contain all natural ingredients and thereby stimulate the body to produce testosterone in a natural way.
  • Third, since your body is producing testosterone on its own in a natural way, you will not experience any of the side effects that come with injecting synthetic testosterone (testosterone replacement therapy).
  • Fourth, the testosterone being produced is natural and recognized by your body, therefore allowing your body to actually utilize it. Your body will only fully utilize testosterone if it was produced within the body rather than directly ingested.

Chemforce – A natural testosterone-boosting supplement 6

Chemforce is a natural and promising dietary supplement comprising Furosap® (fenugreek seed extract) as a major ingredient which is patented and clinically proven to manage testosterone deficiency. It is reported to improve sperm count, sperm morphology and has a protective effect on male reproductive system.

As Chemforce increases testosterone levels inside body, it also contributes to the increase in sexual functions and it increases unbound free testosterone levels, which improves muscle mass, fat loss, strength and endurance.

Thus, Chemforce can be chosen as a natural testosterone-boosting supplement over testosterone therapy to improve testosterone deficiency. Testosterone Boosting Vs Testosterone Replacement Therapy

Have you considered the Seriousness of Low Testosterone?

Have you considered the Seriousness of Low Testosterone?

Men like to make jokes about Low Testosterone but a deficiency in this hormone is no laughing matter. Finding yourself unable to perform can be an alarming first for many men. However, few realize that low T can lead to serious illnesses like diabetes, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular disease.

A simple blood test can reveal if you have low T and, in this article, we will discuss the role of testosterone, lesser-known effects of low T, and treatment options to consider.

1

What is Normal?

Loss of testosterone is gradual, dropping by about 1% to 1.5% each year beginning at around age 40. This steady decline as a result can leave men feeling less energetic, depressed and less manly.

what is normal

A normal testosterone level will measure in a lab via a blood test at 300 to 1,000 nanograms per deciliter. However, a confirmation is needed to determine if someone has low T since these hormone levels can fluctuate throughout the day.

The Role of Testosterone:

Testosterone plays an important role in the development of men. This hormone is the main driver of puberty and is responsible for a man’s deep voice, facial hair, and muscle growth. Without testosterone, men wouldn’t have pubic hair or produce sperm. Importantly, testosterone is what gives men their sex drive.

A decline in blood testosterone after a certain age is normal however there are other, more serious causes of low T. Testicular cancer including chemo and radiation therapy as well as other forms of cancer can deplete testosterone. Excess alcohol and certain medications may be the cause in addition to pituitary and thyroid conditions. Injuries to the testes may also drain your testosterone.

What if you have Low Testosterone?

Low T can be a serious condition if left unaddressed. While a simple blood test can determine if you have low T, there are some lesser-known effects low testosterone can have on the male body:

3

  • Decreased bone density which can lead to osteoporosis
  • Irritability, depression and an inability to focus
  • A build up of body fat around the midsection which can lead to serious illnesses like type 2 diabetes, heart disease and certain cancers

Treatment:

There are a number of treatments that raise testosterone back up to a normal level, which should typically hover around 300 to 500 ng/dL.

Deep muscle injections are the most common and cost effective method of treatment. Administered every two to ten weeks, patients will feel the largest bump in testosterone during the first few days, after which levels begin to drop. If you are shy of needles, this may not be the best option as the injections themselves can be quite painful.

Treatment

Patches and gels are another form of low T treatment and can be applied daily to the skin where the testosterone is absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. A simple and easy to use method of treatment, some side effects include skin irritations like rashes and itching. This product must also be kept out of reach of children and your partner. A nasal gel is now available to help protect others from exposure.

Implants under the skin are the newest methods of treatment. Once they are inserted, they work continuously for six months. While infections, bleeding and bruising around the insertion point are possible, these side effects are rare.

Side Effects do exist:

side-effects

Testosterone treatment can come with several risks. For some men, testosterone treatment can turn off the body’s own testicular function including both sperm and testosterone production therefore, treatment is not always recommended for men who want to conceive a child.

Testosterone replacement therapy may also increase a man’s risk for blood clots and can accelerate age-related enlargement of the prostate. Though, little evidence exists suggesting that T therapy can cause prostate cancer.

As long as you are taking testosterone, however, your doctor will likely monitor the health of your prostate.

Keep Watch of Your Health:

Watch-your-diet

While considering a treatment plan, also take into account your overall health. Maintaining a healthy diet and the right amount of exercise is vital to balanced hormones.

Fat speeds up the metabolizing of testosterone. The more fat you carry, the faster you will burn through an already depleted hormone. If you want to get the most out of testosterone therapy, put your health first and exercise regularly, eat a diet rich in whole plant foods and keep your weight down.

Natural supplements for Testosterone have shown added benefits as well:

A study out of University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas examined the effects of fenugreek supplementation on strength and body composition in resistance-trained men. Researchers found that while both the placebo and fenugreek groups significantly increased their strength during the first four weeks, only the fenugreek group saw significant increases in strength after eight weeks of training and supplementation. These findings suggest that fenugreek could help men continue to increase strength after reaching a dreaded plateau. Additionally, only the fenugreek group saw significant increases in lean body mass at both four and eight weeks. Fenugreek has also shown to improve sexual function and well-being.

chemforce-box

Fenugreek derived Protodioscin is the primary ingredient in a safe and natural supplement known as Chemforce which has been clinically evaluated for safety and efficacy and is a patented ingredient. In addition to boosting testosterone, it has shown to improve sperm count, sperm morphology, and can help protect the male reproductive system. For more information, visit www.chemforce.in.

You Likely Don’t Know These Facts about Testosterone

When people hear the word ‘testosterone’ they often first think ‘aggression.’ Indeed, there is a link between the hormone and the behavior in competitive situations like between peers or for a sexual partner. Today we discuss about the Facts about Testosterone

However, testosterone is far more complex than people suspect. The interplay between testosterone and behavior has fascinating subtleties that often go unnoticed in both men and women. So today, we have compiled some interesting Facts about Testosterone this ‘male hormone’ you likely didn’t already know.

Men in Love Have Less:

Capture

Men newly in love have lower testosterone than single men or those with a long-term partner a small Italian study found. The opposite however, is true for women. Women in love have higher testosterone for the first few months of a relationship than women flying solo or those in a long-term relationship.

Though, much like the honeymoon phase, the dips and spikes in testosterone don’t last. When the researchers tested the study participants again one to two years later, the differences had disappeared.

It Can Shrink your Waistline:

Studies show that men who have low T will often shed fat when treated with testosterone.

waistline

According to Adrian Dobs, MD, a professor of medicine and oncology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, in Baltimore, “most of the studies show there’s a reduction of abdominal obesity in men who are given testosterone.” However, most research is needed to determine the long-term effects of testosterone therapy. It is generally recommended for men with below-normal testosterone levels and symptoms such as fatigue, muscle or bone mass loss, or sexual dysfunction.

It can Increase When You make Money:

British researchers found that young men who are futures traders can get a testosterone boost on days when they make an above-average profit. On mornings when the men’s T levels were higher than normal, their average profits were higher than on days in which the men experience low testosterone thus, suggesting a potential cause-and-effect relationship.

money

The researchers also found that more experienced traders showed an even stronger relationship between testosterone and profits.

Too Much can Decrease Testicle Size:

In men who take too much testosterone as a performance enhancer, many experience overdose symptoms like shrunken testicles and enlarged breasts. On the other hand, women can experience a deeper voice, an enlarged clitoris, hair loss from the head, and a hair growth on the face and body. Both men and women can experience symptoms ranging from acne and mood swings to aggression and other problems.

Men who consult a doctor to treat low testosterone or women who take small amounts under medical supervision are unlikely to experience these symptoms.

When your Favorite Team Wins, So Do You:

Be it football or golf, the run-up to a competition causes a rise in men’s testosterone studies suggest. Testosterone in a man will increase even more after the game if he won. Fans go through a similar experience.

team

In a group of 21 men watching a Brazil vs. Italy World Cup match, the Brazil fans’ testosterone levels increased after their team won while the Italy fans’ testosterone levels dropped. Facts about Testosterone

Extra Fat can lower it:

The other Facts about Testosterone is On average, obese men tend to have lower testosterone then men of a healthy weight. A number of studies have looked at the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and testosterone levels in men. One key finding was that hypogonadism, or low T, is found in 75% of men considered very obese. Additionally, the common decrease in testosterone seen in older men is not due to age but rather a result of weight gain, the studies find.

Your Hands have untold Hormone Secrets:

In men and boys, the right pointer finger is shorter when compared to the right ring finger than it is in girls, a trait that is also found in other five-fingered creatures like rats.

Scientists have found that the difference is a clear indicator for fetal exposure to testosterone. The higher your testosterone level before birth, the shorter your pointer finger is when compared to the ring finger.

Measuring it accurately is Difficult:

Men are still being diagnosed with low T after only a single test. This is problem according to Neil Goodman, MD, an endocrinologist and professor of medicine at the University Of Miami School Of Medicine.”If I take blood on a guy and I send it to three labs, I’m going to get three different levels,” he says.

Efforts to standardize blood tests are underway and Dr. Goodman suggests getting more than one test with conducted in the morning when your T levels are the highest.

It’s not the Anti-Aging Solution:

Many aging men believe that a little testosterone therapy will restore their vigor, muscle power and sex drive however, we are not talking about the fountain of youth.

It’s unclear whether therapy can do anything for the 75-80% of men over 65 who have normal levels of testosterone. If you have low T levels however, testosterone therapy may increase libido, sexual function, bone mass, and has shown to help diabetic men with low T build lean muscle mass.

antiaging

Certain supplements can also help treat low testosterone.

Chemforce, for example, is a healthful dietary supplement reported to improve sperm count, sperm morphology, and can help protect the male reproductive system. Comprised of Furosap® containing Protodioscin as the major fraction, Chemforce has shown to help improve overall quality of life in men who have low T.

It doesn’t Cause Prostate Cancer:

You can breathe a sigh of relief because, contrary to popular belief, taking testosterone does not cause prostate cancer. Testosterone treatment can boost levels of a prostate-specific antigen, or PSA, a nonspecific marker for prostate cancer, which may lead to more prostate biopsies and more prostate-cancer diagnoses, Dr. Goodman says.

There is a Link between Low T and Sleep Apnea:

Men with sleep apnea are more likely to have low testosterone, and treating sleep apnea can help return it to normal.

However, if a man with sleep apnea is a diagnosed with low T along, taking testosterone as a supplement can make sleep apnea worse. Dr. Goodman suggests that men with low testosterone get a

full workup by an endocrinologist so underlying conditions that can cause low testosterone, such as sleep apnea or pituitary-gland tumors, don’t go undiagnosed.

Too much is linked to Cardiovascular Problems:

The other Facts about Testosterone is a 2010 research study of testosterone therapy in older men was halted because of a higher rate of cardiovascular problems such as heart attack in the group taking testosterone instead of the placebo.

More research is needed to understand the link between taking testosterone and cardiovascular problems however caution should be used in prescribing testosterone to older men in poor health, Dr. Goodman says. Declining testosterone in men is associated with health problems, but this does not mean giving older men testosterone will increase their life span, he says.

Your Brain Cells may be at Risk:

Yale researchers found that nerve cells exposed to high levels of testosterone were more likely to self-destruct. The hormone boosted a “cell suicide” mechanism known as apoptosis which, under normal circumstances, is supposed to help the body eliminate cancerous or otherwise abnormal cells.

The higher the testosterone level in the dish, the shorter lived the cells were. Exposure to low levels of testosterone, however, had no effect on the cells.

Attention Men: You’re paying a High Price for Low Testosterone

For men with low testosterone, the pharmaceutical T-raising options are aplenty: rub-on gels, testosterone injections, under-the-skin implants and something called human chorionic gonadotropin or hCG. A product of the pharmaceutical giant Merck, hCG is a natural glycopeptide hormone made in the placenta of pregnant women, extracted from urine, and purified into the Pregnyl.  HCG is typically used as a fertility treatment but men are turning to it to top off their low or near empty T tanks. Attention Men: You’re paying a High Price for Low Testosterone

Yep. Men are shooting up substances that came from pee.

Medical: Syringe
Beginning in the late 30s or early 40s, a man’s testosterone level begins to wane with research showing drops by 1 to 2 percent a year after age 40. Declining at such a gradual rate, men don’t typically notice until their 50s when symptoms appear including reduced energy, loss of libido, and weaker erections. The medical term is “hypogonadotropic hypogonadism” or simply low testosterone. If you’re experiencing these symptoms and have been diagnosed with low T, you’re not alone. In fact, 5 million men have been diagnosed with low T in the United States alone and a study in the International Journal of Clinical Practice figures another 12.5 million men have the hormone deficiency but aren’t receiving treatment. High Price for Low Testosterone

By now you may be wondering, what are the long-term effects of low testosterone? What are the risks of testosterone therapy? Are there alternative methods of treatment? If depressingly low testosterone levels have you feeling emasculated at 52, fear not because this article seeks to provide insights into these questions and hopefully help improve your quality of life.

The High Price of Low Testosterone

Pharmaceutical companies spent more than $100 million to promote treatments for low testosterone in 2012 alone while gross U.S. sales topped $2.2 billion. Men are bombarded with ads that stink of profit-making opportunism like an AndroGel ad showing an attractive couple enjoying a top-down ride in a blue Mustang telling you to “turn it up!” The website for the underarm treatment Axiron depicts a burly baseball umpire with the message: “Trust your instincts to make the call.”

Lisa Schwartz, M.D., and Steven Woloshin, M.D., codirectors of the Dartmouth College Center for Medicine and the Media wrote in a JAMA Internal Medicine editorial back in 2014 that “Whether the campaign is motivated by a sincere desire to help men or simply by greed, we should recognize it for what it is: a mass, uncontrolled experiment that invites men to expose themselves to the harms of a treatment unlikely to fix problems that may be wholly unrelated to testosterone levels.”

Beyond a hormonal assessment, treatment and full body monitoring doesn’t come cheap. The bill could be as high as $10,000 a year not including outside testing and pharmaceutical costs. However, evaluations and blood tests can be telling. For example, Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is a measure of average blood sugar over three months and can identify pre-diabetes and diabetes.

The Benefits of Testosterone Therapy

Improved Body Composition

Increased muscle mass and a decline in belly fat are common results of testosterone therapy. In a UCLA study conducted at seven U.S. medical centers and published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, men who were given T gel therapy added 4.3 pounds of muscle in six months, and 6.5 pounds over 18 months. High Price for Low Testosterone Researchers believe that an improved body composition helps you metabolize sugar better and help reverse insulin resistance.

Bone Strength

Testosterone therapy can also increase mineral density particularly in the hips and spine. Long believed to be a women’s disease, osteoporosis is becoming more prevalent among men with 4 out 10 fractures due to brittle bones occurring in men after age 50.

Better Sexual Function

In a review of 17 studies in the journal Clinical Endocrinology, researchers found that an average of three months of testosterone supplementation boosted libido, increased the frequency of sex, and triggered more nocturnal spontaneous erections.

A Healthier Cardiovascular System

In men with heart disease or its risk factors, studies have found low testosterone levels suggesting that testosterone plays an important role in the health of a man’s cardiovascular system. Some researchers believe that testosterone may help keep arteries flexible, allowing them to dilate and constrict with changes in blood flow. High Price for Low Testosterone

So, what’s the downside?

Cancer and Testosterone

If you have read about testosterone elevation, you have likely also read about its connection to prostate cancer. However, consensus is hard to find. High Price for Low Testosterone

In a 2011 Journal of Urology study, Dr. Lipshultz and Dr. Morgentaler monitored men with untreated prostate cancer who were also on testosterone therapy for an average of two and a half years. After a year of monitoring, they found no signs of prostate cancer growth or worsening of symptoms.

According to Dr. Lipshultz, “there’s not one study showing that testosterone causes prostate cancer.”

Dr. Lipshultz and other physicians also worry about the potential for abuse in the growing industry of low-testosterone treatment centers that lure men with promises akin to the fountain of youth and then don’t track their patients carefully enough. “The amount of testosterone in the circulatory system needs to be monitored to make sure it’s high enough to achieve benefits but not so high that it causes problems,” says Dr. Morgentaler.

With this in mind, there are a few downsides to testosterone therapy.

Reduced Sperm Production

The testes need to generate their own testosterone to make sperm therefore, supplemental testosterone can suppress this natural production which could be a concern for younger men who want to be fathers. It may also reduce testicle volume.

Lower HDL Cholesterol

Also known as “good” cholesterol, this may or may not be affected. The results of studies done on hyogonadal men so far have been mixed.

Higher Red Blood Cell Concentration

This is good for athletic endurance but may also thicken blood which can lead clots. When undergoing testosterone therapy, it’s important to get blood tests regularly.

Are these risks worth it? Abraham Morgentaler, M.D., an associate clinical professor of urology at Harvard Medical School, argues that low testosterone shouldn’t be written off as a normal part of aging. He regularly prescribes testosterone therapy at his practice, Men’s Health Boston, in Brookline, Massachusetts. “Aging is associated with bad hearing, bad teeth, bad arteries, bad joints, and cancer, and we treat all those things,” he says. “Nobody would argue that you shouldn’t wear glasses because weaker eyesight is common as you get older.” High Price for Low Testosterone

What’s the Alternative?

fruits

We’re discovering more each day that heart disease, high blood sugar and that pot belly aren’t just you “getting older” and can be treated and even reversed with proper nutrition, exercise and natural remedies. Perhaps the same is true for low testosterone. High Price for Low Testosterone

In a summary of one review focusing on the connection between obesity, diabetes and low testosterone, and three clinical studies, researchers found that obesity is a major cause of low testosterone. However, they also found that the “common decrease in testosterone seen in older men is not due to age, but rather to increasing body weight. Testosterone decreases seen in men as they get older can be reversed with weight loss.”

Not interested in plunging a hollow-point needle into your abdomen? Try ditching the high fat, processed foods like meat, dairy and eggs and switch to whole plant foods for optimal health and weight. Doctors agree, the best way to prevent artery blockages, improve heart health and lower blood pressure thus, improving sexual function is to eat a diet high in fiber including fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.  A moderate level of exercise daily is also recommended.

A lesser known super food, Fenugreek is also proving to be a useful and natural supplement.

Produced primarily in India and traditionally used to prepare curry powders, pickles, and pastes, studies are now investigating Fenugreek for its anabolic properties.

High Price for Low Testosterone

Fenugreek extract, protodioscin is the primary ingredient in a safe and natural supplement called Chemforce.  In addition to boosting testosterone, it has shown to improve sperm count, sperm morphology, and can help protect the male reproductive system. Protodioscin increases levels of the hormones; testosterone, dihydrotestosterone and dehydroepiandrosterone. It boosts testosterone levels via stimulating pituitary gland. Protodioscin acts by stimulating the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which plays a role in the conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone. Dihydrotestosterone, in turn enhances erythropoiesis and muscle development. More erythropoiesis or production of red blood cell increases the haemoglobin level, which results in better oxygen transport throughout the body, resulting in a more optimal health. Increased production of testosterone contributes to the increase in sexual functions, and it increases unbound free testosterone levels, which improves muscle mass, fat loss, strength and endurance. In addition, protodioscin stimulates the hypothalamus secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) which again helps to increase the level of testosterone. Importantly, regular use of Protodioscin has been shown to increase the duration of penile erection and improve ejaculation in males. For more information, visit www.chemforce.in
